Health & Human Services Commission in Texas is seeking a Project and Grants Manager (Program Specialist VII) to lead complex PBHP unit projects and multi-million dollar initiatives. You will manage contracts, procurements, and legislative activities while coordinating with stakeholders.

The role emphasizes advanced project management, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration, with telework eligibility and a focus on prevention programs across state agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in prevention science, public health, social work, health education, business administration, project management, or related field.
• Advanced degree in public administration, health services, public health, social work, business administration, or related areas preferred.
• Minimum three years of project or grant management experience in prevention/behavioral health/public health programs.

Responsibilities

• Plan, administer, and monitor PBHP projects and grants with multiple complex components.
• Lead procurement, grant applications, and contract management activities.
• Coordinate with internal/external partners and stakeholders to meet project milestones.
• Oversee risk assessment, reporting, and compliance for funded initiatives.
