Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) seeks a Program Specialist VII to serve as Special Projects Coordinator. This role helps manage new initiatives, coordinate projects across departments, track progress, and prepare reports.

The position may involve legislative liaison duties and committee work. Under SH supervision, you will lead workgroups, support disaster response planning, and ensure operations improvement through cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in psychology, sociology, special education, rehabilitation counseling, or a related human services field and a minimum of six months experience.
• Associate degree and a minimum of twenty-four months experience required.
• No degree and a minimum of four years of experience required.

Responsibilities

• Attends work regularly and may be asked to work specific shift schedules.
• Coordinate, plan, initiation and completion of assigned projects and workgroups for SH.
• Set project goals, objectives, and deliverables; track outcomes and provide reports.
• Lead or participate in committees/work groups; facilitate meetings; develop partnerships with stakeholders.
