Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) in Austin is seeking a senior-level Money Follows the Person Finance Specialist. You will provide advanced financial oversight for the federal grant, monitor expenditures, and coordinate complex contract deliverables to ensure compliance with state and federal rules.

The role requires deep knowledge of budgeting, GAAP, and grant management, with leadership responsibilities and collaboration with internal teams and external partners.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, finance, accounting, or a closely related field.
• Experience in state government program administration, financial analysis, or contract management preferred.
• Experience in consultative financial services, grant management, or regulatory compliance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial oversight and monitor expenditures for the Money Follows the Person grant.
• Develop and maintain budget models and financial projections for grant operations.
• Ensure compliance with TxGMS, GAAP, and 2 CFR 200 in all finance activities.
• Coordinate contract deliverables and payments, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
• Lead and guide staff and external stakeholders on financial processes.
