Job summary

Detroit Defense Inc. is seeking a Government Cost Accountant in Michigan to join the Controller/FP&A team. You will manage cost pools, indirect rates, and organization structures in Costpoint, ensure data integrity, and support ICS submissions and audits.

You will apply FAR Part 31, CAS, and perform reconciliations, prepare schedules, and assist in cost analysis for proposals and pricing. The role requires collaboration across Finance, Contracts, and Program teams and carries eligibility for

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum five years cost accounting in government contracting.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Clearance if required.
• Hands-on Deltek Costpoint experience.
• Experience with Incurred Cost Submission (ICS) and ICE model.
• Working knowledge of FAR Part 31 and CAS.
• Strong Excel skills and data validation.
• Ability to work with Controller and FP&A teams.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile indirect cost pools (fringe, overhead, G&A) in Costpoint.
• Calculate and reconcile actual vs provisional rates; analyze variances.
• Support provisional billing rate development and annual rate budgets.
• Verify allocation bases for pools are applied consistently.
• Maintain Costpoint organization/department structure and documentation.
• Evaluate impact of organizational changes on cost structures.
• Prepare journal entries for indirect cost pools and rate true-ups.
• Support month-end/year-end close and ad hoc cost analyses.
