Job summary

Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC seeks a Manager of Government Relations to lead federal and state advocacy, coordinating with the Vice President to monitor legislation and regulatory actions across the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia.

The role builds coalitions, educates legislators, drafts testimony, and develops strategic messaging using hospital data to support favorable policy outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Hospital Administration, Public Administration or related field required.
• Master's Degree preferred.
• DC and VA government relations experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify, monitor and analyze legislation, and offer recommendations on action.
• Draft legislation and develop strategies for passage on priority institutional advocacy issues.
• Develop educational materials on legislative and policy issues.
• Monitor regulatory action; draft official statements and testify as needed.
• Coordinate grassroots initiatives and liaise with Finance on reimbursement policy.
