Job summary

Impulse Space, Inc. is seeking a Government Affairs Senior Manager to build and own relationships with local and state government officials, lead community engagement in California and Colorado, and coordinate with federal legislative affairs in DC from our Redondo Beach HQ.

The role requires 7+ years of federal legislative experience and a Bachelor's in Political Science, with a focus on strategic advocacy, cross-functional collaboration, and an ability to travel to DC as needed.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of federal legislative experience
• Bachelor's degree in Political Science or related field
• Experience supporting constituent services or similar
• Familiarity with federal legislative processes (appropriations and authorization)
• Experience navigating national security policy, programs, budgets, or advocacy
• Strong verbal and written communication; experience writing white papers
• Ability to work collaboratively across locations

Responsibilities

• Represent Impulse and advocate for Impulse priorities with local and federal government stakeholders
• Draft, support, and execute engagement strategy for Redondo Beach and Mojave Air and Spaceport
• Monitor and analyze local government and regulatory developments impacting Impulse programs
• Collaborate with Government Affairs, Business Development, Marketing, Operations and other teams to identify risks and opportunities
• Convey complex policy issues clearly to internal and external audiences
• Represent Impulse to visiting stakeholders at official and unofficial events in the LA area
