Job summary

Impulse Space, Inc. in Washington, DC seeks a Government Affairs Manager to advocate for the company’s interests with federal stakeholders. You will develop and maintain a DC-based network focused on national security and civil space policy, and represent Impulse at high-visibility events.

The role requires translating complex technical topics for non-technical audiences, and coordinating with executive leadership on policy engagement and regulatory issues. On-site in DC with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of federal legislative experience or equivalent in aerospace/government affairs.
• Strong written and verbal communication for advocacy materials and white papers.

Responsibilities

• Represent Impulse with federal government stakeholders, especially within Congressional offices.
• Draft and execute engagement strategy to advance national security and civil space priorities.
• Build relationships with Congressional offices and committees on defense, space, and appropriations.
• Monitor legislative developments affecting national security and civil/space programs; prepare briefs.
• Support DC operations, manage PAC activities, and coordinate with aerospace stakeholders.
• Manage congressional engagement process, track engagements and follow up.
• Collaborate with Government Affairs, Business Development, Marketing and others to identify risks and opportunities.
• Convey policy issues clearly to internal and external audiences and prepare leadership presentations.
