Job description

About the Role

The real estate market is undergoing significant and exciting changes driven by innovations in data and technology. Digital and Technology powered products play a vital role in CBRE’s mission to create unmatched value for our clients. Every year, CBRE invests heavily in the improvement and growth of its technology portfolio. These global technology programs are highly complex and have a high-risk profile proportionate to the rewards and value expected to be realized upon completion. These programs require the maturity, foresight, and tenacity of a seasoned Engagement Director to ensure successful delivery.

As a CBRE Strategic Governance Engagement Director, you will lead 1-2 pivotal technology programs or internal initiatives, overseeing their entire lifecycle from initial planning and design through to successful delivery. You will collaborate closely with business and technology product owners to craft program strategies and roadmaps, define and mobilize projects, and meticulously manage execution. This role also entails owning the program's business case, rigorously reviewing performance metrics, driving continuous improvement, and actively engaging with senior executives in governance forums, alongside managing critical stakeholder relationships.

What You'll Do
  • Create structured strategic presentations for senior executives to understand engagement findings, considerations, recommendations, and action plans
  • Manage the delivery of large-scale programs; ensure that all risks and issues are properly identified, escalations are made when needed, and open actions are managed to closure
  • Understand business functions, processes, objectives, inputs and outputs, and core activities to demonstrate and effectively enable cross-functional partnership (e.g. finance, supply chain, sales, and marketing teams)
  • Provide insight into technology and innovation to the program being managed; demonstrates familiarity with common industry solutions (e.g. ERP, CRM, SFA) and advises/implements modern product development practices (e.g. agile, design thinking)
  • Develop various forms of written communications (e.g. status reports, Steering Committee reports, etc.); facilitate meetings with senior executives and influences upwards and laterally to enable alignment and execution
  • Lead the development of business cases with clearly identified benefit commitments (e.g. how and when deliverables will be achieved)
  • Ensure programs are measured against true sources of value including focusing on on-time and on-budget program delivery as well as realizing the benefits committed
  • Coordinate the periodic review of programs and their underlying technology products, which includes looking at key quarterly outcomes, performance metrics, and state of capital projects
  • Participate and drive innovation in the program management domain by identifying new tools, templates, concepts, and techniques that result in improved and transparent program control
  • Manage, coach, and train team members from Digital & Technology or business-facing groups who are part of projects and programs being managed
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Work to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement.
  • Impact a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within own team and other related teams.
  • Work within broad guidelines and policies.
  • Explain difficult or sensitive information.
What You'll Need
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 5 - 10 years of relevant experience in a strategic program management role. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Previous experience in general or strategic management consulting (e.g. Accenture, McKinsey, etc.)
  • Ability to motivate team members with influence and accomplish goals
  • Proactive in identifying problems early and to prioritize deliverables
  • Good combination of technical and business background
  • Effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels
  • Self-motivated, smart and quick to learn
  • Interest in, and focus on, customers and passionate about creating good user experiences
  • Willing to travel (likely 20-30%), locally and internationally
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in agile software development processes
