Job summary

Hitachi Energy USA Inc. in Jefferson City, Missouri, seeks a Senior Purchasing Manager to lead factory-level procurement ensuring production continuity.

You will develop sourcing strategies and balance cost, quality and delivery while guiding a high-performing team across global functions, inclu ding India, to improve procurement processes and supplier performance.

Lead negotiations, manage spend, and ensure compliance with internal and external regulations in a dynamic energy-focused environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of procurement, purchasing, or supply chain experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven leadership experience managing procurement teams and cross-functional initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of end-to-end Procure-to-Pay processes (sourcing, PO management, supplier management, receiving, invoicing).
• Experience with SAP and other ERP systems in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end purchasing for direct materials, indirect spend, and factory services.
• Ensure material availability to support production schedules and operations.
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies optimizing cost, quality, delivery, and supplier performance.
• Build partnerships with local, regional, and global suppliers while managing negotiations.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, finance, and operations to align procurement with business goals.
• Utilize SAP and ERP systems to manage procurement transactions, reporting, and process improvements.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of purchasing professionals.
• Partner with global support teams to improve efficiency and service delivery.
