Curtiss-Wright Fleet Solutions in Chesapeake, VA is seeking a Purchasing Manager to lead global procurement activities and supplier relationships. The role focuses on strategic sourcing, cost reduction, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to align procurement with growth initiatives.

The candidate will manage a procurement team, ensure process rigor, review technical drawings for procurement purposes, and travel as needed.

Qualifications

8–12 years of procurement experience in complex high‑mix manufacturing or service operations.
Associate’s degree, or higher, in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Statistics, or equivalent.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans for global sourcing and supplier consolidation.
Support organizational growth by aligning procurement activities to cost reduction and margin expansion efforts.
Serve as the liaison between purchasing department and key internal stakeholders and departments.
Lead and develop a team of purchasing department representatives of varying experience.
Monitor and maintain procurement processes and standard operating procedures.
Develop and maintain supplier relationship management and drive strategic partnerships to ensure performance, innovation and cost competitiveness.
Monitor and report department KPIs and recommend corrective actions as necessary.
Develop or maintain a robust supplier performance system.
Develop and implement supplier negotiation and procurement technique best practices.
