Job summary

Gageospatial is seeking a GIS Director to lead and maintain the City & County GIS programs, overseeing data systems, staff supervision, and strategic planning. You will coordinate across departments and regional agencies to ensure accurate spatial data supports planning, public works, and emergency management.

The role requires strong leadership, budget oversight, vendor negotiations, and staying current with GIS technologies, including ESRI products and open-source solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree in GIS or related field; 3–5 years GIS field experience.
• Experience leading GIS teams and managing budgets.
• Knowledge of ESRI software and GIS data management.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain GIS applications, tools, and scripts.
• Supervise GIS staff; recruit, train, and evaluate performance.
• Oversee GIS systems; implement standards for data maintenance.
• Coordinate with departments and regional agencies on GIS projects.
• Develop Citywide GIS strategy, budgeting, and vendor management.
• Provide training and technical assistance to staff.
