Job summary

Greenwood County is seeking a working manager and technical lead to oversee the County’s GIS operations, ensuring accurate geospatial data and reliable mapping for departments, the public, and external partners.

You will guide long‑term GIS planning, develop Python scripts, create web maps with ArcGIS Online/Portal, and coordinate projects across agencies while supervising staff and aligning with NG911 standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, or a related field.
Five (5) years of progressively responsible GIS experience including data management and web mapping.
Experience with ESRI technologies including ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online/Portal.

Responsibilities

Plans, organizes, and manages GIS operations, services, and projects.
Establishes and enforces GIS data standards, workflows, and procedures.
Coordinates and supports County departments, municipalities, and external partners in GIS projects.
Administers and maintains the County’s enterprise GIS environment including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Server, and ArcGIS Online/Portal.
Publishes and manages map and feature services for County departments and public websites.
Performs advanced spatial analysis and produces analytical maps, reports, and visualizations.
