Job summary

HappyGlobal Service is seeking a seasoned General Counsel/Legal Director to lead the in-house legal team and partner with the Executive Team on governance, M&A, securities, IP, and risk management. You will mentor lawyers, manage outside counsel, and shape compliance programs to mitigate risk in a fast-paced energy/manufacturing context.

The role requires a JD with 10+ years of practice, including 3+ years in leadership and 5+ years in Energy/Manufacturing.

Qualifications

• JD from a well-known law school.
• 10+ years as a practicing attorney, with at least 3 years in leadership.
• 5+ years in Energy/Manufacturing industry.
• 5+ years in investment, financing, international business, engineering, construction, sales, contracts, or procurement.
• Proven track record in strategic legal counsel and managing complex matters.
• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Bilingual Mandarin and English; Mandarin preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the in-house legal department, overseeing all legal matters.
• Provide strategic counsel to the President and executive team on governance, M&A, securities, IP, contracts, compliance, and risk.
• Mentor and develop the legal team; foster a high-performing culture.
• Coordinate with external counsel and leverage their expertise when needed.
• Stay current on legal developments in energy/manufacturing and advise accordingly.
• Develop and implement comprehensive legal compliance programs.
