Job summary

Gotion Inc. in Silicon Valley is seeking a seasoned General Counsel/Legal Director to lead a team of lawyers and provide comprehensive counsel across governance, mergers and acquisitions, securities, intellectual property, contracts and compliance.

You will partner with the President and Executive Team to shape strategy and mitigate legal risk. You will build strong legal processes, manage external counsel, and navigate regulatory challenges in the energy/manufacturing sectors to support

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a well-known law school.
• 10+ years as a practicing attorney with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• 5+ years in the Energy/Manufacturing industry.
• Experience in investment, financing, international business, engineering, construction, sales, contracts, or procurement.
• Proven track record of strategic legal counsel and managing complex matters.
• Strong leadership and ability to mentor a high-performing team.
• Demonstrated bilingual capability in Mandarin and English; Mandarin preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the legal department and oversee all legal matters.
• Provide strategic advice to the President and Executive Team on governance, M&A, securities, IP, contracts, compliance, and risk.
• Mentor the in-house legal team and coordinate with external counsel.
• Stay current on energy/manufacturing legal developments and advise accordingly.
• Develop and implement comprehensive legal compliance programs.
• Participate in strategic business discussions and contribute to corporate strategy.
