Job summary

GVW Group seeks a seasoned General Counsel to translate the company’s vision into actionable legal strategies across its portfolio. You will counsel senior leadership, oversee governance, regulate securities and labor matters, and drive risk management with a hands-on, business-minded approach.

The role requires JD, 20+ years in corporate law, and a track record as a senior legal executive. Based in Miami or Birmingham, you’ll partner across functions and lead AI-enabled tools to boost

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Minimum of 20 years of legal experience, with significant corporate practice.
• Proven track record as General Counsel or senior legal executive.
• Extensive knowledge of corporate, commercial, and regulatory law.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Hands-on experience leveraging AI tools and legal tech to improve operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide counsel to the senior management on legal matters.
• Develop and implement legal policies and procedures to mitigate risks.
• Ensure adherence to financial regulations and securities laws.
• Structure investments and ensure tax compliance for funds.
• Ensure compliance with transportation, FTC, and Franchise Rule requirements.
• Advise on corporate governance and risk management across the portfolio.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and partnership agreements.
• Coordinate with external counsel and represent the company in litigation as needed.
• Identify and mitigate legal risks across all portfolio companies.
• Lead AI-enabled tools initiatives to improve productivity and governance.
