Job summary

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department seeks a General Accounting Manager in Cheyenne to lead a 16-member section and oversee the agency's core financial functions, including grants, procurement, and payroll. Responsible for developing and monitoring a $100M+ annual budget to support the department's mission of Conserving Wildlife and Serving People.

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or closely related field.
• 3-5 years of progressive work experience in finance, preferably governmental accounting.
• Experience supervising staff and managing complex financial operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee core financial functions: AP, AR, revenue reconciliation, and grants.
• Manage grants and procurement processes in compliance with laws.
• Develop and monitor annual budget; prepare board and legislative materials.
• Lead payroll processes, timekeeping reconciliation, and payroll budgeting.
• Collaborate with CFO and Budget Manager on financial systems and data management.
• Provide professional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
