Job summary

SpaceX in Memphis is seeking a Sourcing Specialist focused on gas turbine power sourcing to help build a robust supplier base for critical propulsion components. You will design sourcing strategies, manage supplier relationships, and lead cost-reduction initiatives across the procurement lifecycle.

The role requires hands-on experience with capital equipment procurement, RFPs, and contracts, plus the ability to read technical drawings and collaborate with engineering, facilities, and test teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or 4+ years in related field) with 1+ year in purchasing/contract negotiation or operations/supply chain management.
• Experience with gas turbine procurement and capital equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create sourcing strategies for assigned categories to reduce risk and meet targets for the purchasing department.
• Develop and maintain internal stakeholder relationships to optimize value and achieve cost reductions.
• Present to decision makers on launch-critical events and ensure compliance with category strategies.
• Identify and execute cost reduction projects with stakeholders and provide progress updates.
• Define SLAs and KPIs for suppliers and monitor performance against criteria.
• Conduct market analysis, benchmarking, and research for assigned categories.
• Create and manage contract documents in collaboration with legal.
