Job summary

The Salvation Army in Cincinnati seeks a Development Director to organize and coordinate philanthropic activity for the Greater Cincinnati Area Services (GCAS). The role leads the Development Department, oversees annual giving, grant applications and local fundraising plans, while aligning with DHQ/THQ on territory-wide initiatives.

Responsibilities include managing staff, engaging donors and media, coordinating major fundraising events, and ensuring fundraising aligns with the Mission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and progressive fundraising experience required.
• CFRE certification preferred.
• Experience with Salesforce or other donor tracking CRM.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including media relations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the GCAS Development Department and lead fundraising strategy.
• Manage annual giving, grants, and donor relations to support operating budgets.
• Coordinate local fundraising plans and major events with advisory boards.
• Develop relationships with media, donors and community leaders to maximize funding opportunities.
• Collaborate with DHQ/THQ on territory-wide initiatives and localization for Cincinnati.
