Job summary

The Salvation Army in Memphis seeks a seasoned Development Director to lead a comprehensive financial development plan, donor cultivation, and major gifts efforts. You will supervise the development team, work with executives on strategic funding priorities, and ensure accurate donor records and reporting.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least five years of fundraising experience, with a valid driver license.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Advertising, Public Relations, Business Administration, or related field.
Five (5) years of experience performing development and fundraising activities.
Valid State Driver License.

Responsibilities

Plans, develops, implements, administers, and sustains an aggressive Financial Development Plan including public relations/marketing, direct mail, grant writing, donor cultivation, major gifts, and board development.
Meets with Area Commander to identify program funding needs and prepares strategic plans with short and long-range goals.
Develops the annual Financial Development Program budget and monitors donor records.
Researches and initiates fund-raising strategies to develop corporate gifts and sponsorships.
Produces regular financial reports illustrating development progress.
