Job summary

The Director of Mission Investment & Communications at Piedmont Housing Alliance in Charlottesville leads resource development, fundraising, communications, and community engagement. Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of fundraising and communications experience.
• Proven success in achieving fundraising goals in a competitive field.
• Track record of cultivating donors and building new relationships.
• Experience working in diverse communities with racial equity practices.
• Ability to balance big-picture strategy with hands-on implementation.
• Excellent written and oral communication across all levels.
• Strong knowledge of fundraising and community engagement.
• Motivated to work in a results-oriented environment with high standards.
• Strong computer skills and familiarity with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive communications and resource development plan.
• Oversee fundraising, donor cultivation, acknowledgments, and events to meet goals.
• Oversee grant writing, submissions, and reporting to funders and foundations.
• Strengthen internal and external communications across channels and publish annual report.
• Tell the story of PHA and highlight impact, residents, programs, and mission.
• Supervise the MIC team with leadership, coaching, and performance development.
• Partner with leadership to align resource development with organizational priorities.
• Support travel and occasional evening/weekend responsibilities as needed.
