Job summary

Hermann Services in Houston, TX is seeking a Logistics Freight Broker to join our brokerage team. You will book loads at competitive rates for TL / LTL / Container / Drayage and coordinate orders from start to finish to ensure profitability.

The role requires freight brokerage experience, strong organization, data-entry accuracy, and proficiency with MS Office. A Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, business, or related field is preferred.

Qualifications

Freight brokerage experience required; TL / LTL and container/drayage knowledge preferred.
Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, business or related field required.
Transportation industry experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Works with customers and carrier partners to ensure on-time pickup and delivery while tracking drivers throughout shipment.
Negotiates rates with carriers and confirms correct customer charges to realize a margin.
Manages accounts and solves problems with a customer service-oriented approach.
Performs data entry in our TMS and web-based portals.
Booking carriers at competitive rates and spot-quoting freight movements to realize a margin.
Tracking cargo and equipment from pickup to delivery to ensure safe, timely transport of customer freight.
Vet and on-board safe carriers according to company policy thresholds and standards.
