Job summary

Houston Food Bank is seeking a Senior Accounting Analyst to support leadership by collecting, analyzing, and forecasting key financial and operational metrics against established targets. You will prepare reports, budgets, cash-flow projections, and financial models, partnering with departments to drive accuracy and accountability.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years GAAP experience within nonprofit or supply chain contexts, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
• 5+ years of GAAP experience including GL, journaling, accruals, and close.
• 1+ years in FP&A; nonprofit or supply chain accounting preferred.
• CPA eligibility preferred; reliable transportation and license noted.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial and statistical reports and monitor trends.
• Create cash flow projections and dashboards for inflows/outflows.
• Record month-end journal entries to the general ledger.
• Assist with invoices, budgets, and ad hoc analyses.
• Review bank accounts, treasury investments, and financial models.
• Develop new reports and input data for models and budgets.
• Support grant cost analysis and program reporting for partners.
