Job summary

Make-A-Wish North Texas seeks a Senior Financial Analyst & Accountant to partner with the CFO on budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, reporting, and decision support while handling accounting, payroll, audits, and compliance.

You will translate financial data into actionable insights, build models in Excel and Power BI, and provide leadership with clear management reports in a fast-paced nonprofit setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, business, or related field.
• 4-7 years of progressive accounting, FP&A, nonprofit finance, or related experience.
• Experience budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, management reporting, and cross-functional analysis.
• Knowledge of best practices in financial modeling, reporting, and data visualization; formal training or experience preferred.
• Experience with NetSuite, Salesforce, Excel, Power BI, payroll, retirement plan, and expense management software preferred.
• CPA, CMA, FPAC, MBA or related certification/training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support annual budgeting, forecast, and financial planning processes with CFO and leaders.
• Develop and maintain financial models, forecasts, scenarios, and planning tools.
• Analyze performance, risks, opportunities, and provide insights to leadership.
• Prepare management reports, dashboards, variance analyses, and presentations.
• Translate data into actionable insights for department budgets and decisions.
• Partner with shared services to support accounting operations, close processes, and audits.
• Assist with weekly check runs, payroll, retirement plan contributions, and journal entries.
• Improve reporting, forecasting, and data analysis using Excel, Power BI, and automation.
