Job summary

Orthodox Union, a leading nonprofit in New York, seeks a Senior FP&A Manager to lead budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting. You will partner with department leaders and accounting leadership to translate data into actionable insights, build scalable processes, and drive strategic financial planning.

The role requires strong Excel and Power BI skills, experience with complex multi-program finance, and the ability to deliver executive-ready analyses. CPA/MBA preferred; NY-based.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related discipline.
• 7–10 years of FP&A, corporate finance, or related experience.
• CPA, MBA, CMA, CFA, or another relevant advanced degree preferred.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, dashboards, and exec-level presentations.
• Strong written and verbal communication for nonfinancial audiences.
• Experience in nonprofit or multi-entity organizations preferred.
• Experience automating tasks with coding or AI is highly preferred.
• Advanced financial modeling and proficiency in Excel and Power BI.

Responsibilities

• Lead organization-wide budget, liquidity forecasting, reforecasting, and long-range planning.
• Prepare forward-looking analyses for management and the Board with trends and projections.
• Develop management reporting packages, dashboards, and KPIs for senior leadership.
• Analyze revenue, expenses, costs, allocations, grants, and program-level performance.
• Standardize budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analytics processes and templates.
• Communicate conclusions clearly to financial and nonfinancial stakeholders; manage priorities.
• Collaborate with department leaders to evaluate budgets, staffing, and funding needs.
• Compare projections to actuals and identify drivers, risks, and actions.
• Provide analyses for resource allocation, new initiatives, and cost management.
• Coordinate with Accounting to ensure GL-reconciled reporting with clean data.
