Job summary

Genesee & Wyoming Railroad Services, Inc. (GRSI) in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Senior FP&A Analyst to support the company’s financial planning, forecasting, budgeting and consolidated reporting.

You will partner with FP&A leadership, Accounting, Operations, Marketing and HR to deliver insights and performance analyses. This role requires advanced Excel modeling, strong PowerPoint presentations for the executive team, and the ability to develop forecasts, drive improvements and mentor junior

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
• MBA, CPA, CFA, or other relevant certification preferred.
• 5–8 years of progressive FP&A or related experience.
• Railroad/transportation industry experience preferred.
• Advanced Excel for complex financial models including scenarios.
• Proficient PowerPoint for executive presentations.
• Strong modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and analytics.
• Ability to analyze large data sets and communicate findings.
• Strong communication, presentation, time management, and prioritization.
• Collaborative across Accounting, Operations, Marketing, HR, and other functions.
• Knowledge of automation/AI tooling in analysis; validate outputs.
• Experience with ERP/FP&A systems: Dynamics GP, Adaptive Insights, Power BI.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze consolidated monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Perform variance analysis against budget and prior year; identify drivers.
• Support annual budgets, quarterly outlooks, and long‑range forecasts.
• Maintain consolidated financial model including cash flows, capital structure, and tax.
• Prepare revenue and carload analyses for trends and opportunities.
• Develop forecasting tools and scenario analyses for planning.
• Provide analyses and materials for senior leadership and board.
• Support quarterly business reviews with reporting and metrics.
• Assist month-end close with accuracy and variance explanations.
• Monitor KPIs and propose performance improvements.
• Suggest process improvements for forecasting and reporting.
• Support FP&A reporting systems and data management.
