Job summary

Nordstrom, Inc. in Seattle seeks a Finance Manager, Corporate FP&A to lead monthly close, reporting, and executive storytelling. You will partner across FP&A and Accounting, shaping narratives for Board materials and leadership insights.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in retail finance, advanced Excel/PowerPoint, and experience with Oracle/Anaplan/SQL. The role is hybrid, based in downtown Seattle with four days in office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance or a similar area.
• 5+ years progressive experience in retail or a similar sector.
• Experience building and owning flexible reports and models for decision making.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication with ability to influence.
• Strong storytelling translating complex analysis into actionable insights.
• Ability to understand partner work products and translate into monthly/quarterly reports.
• Strong organizational skills and commitment to data integrity.
• Desire to work in a close-knit team focused on business success and development.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly close timelines and storylines across Accounting, FP&A, and business partners.
• Create MBR, quarterly Board, and leadership materials with concise narratives.
• Interpret results vs plan and signal outlook for consistent narratives.
• Drive automation, AI, and process improvements for internal reporting and KPIs.
• Maintain definitions, structures, and controls; track chart of accounts progress.
• Track retail and industry trends and communicate impact on results.
• Deliver ad hoc analyses for Finance leadership.
