Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; HS diploma acceptable with grant-writing experience.
• 2+ years of nonprofit communications or grant writing experience.
• Experience gathering information from multiple stakeholders and synthesizing into a cohesive narrative.
• Experience with CRM systems, Raiser’s Edge or similar.
• Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to communicate clearly and persuasively.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams.
• Passion for advancing the mission of Epworth Children & Family Services.

Responsibilities

• Research private foundation and corporate funding opportunities aligned with Epworth’s programs and needs.
• Manage assigned foundation and corporate grants from prospect research through submission and reporting.
• Develop clear, compelling narratives connecting community needs with program outcomes and funder priorities.
• Gather program information, outcomes, and budgets with Program, Finance, and Development staff.
• Maintain application, reporting, and administrative deadlines in Instrumental.
• Maintain complete grant files and ensure attachments are accurate and submission-ready.
• Maintain grant submission records, decisions, and deadlines across systems.
• Collaborate with Development Communications Manager to identify stories supporting organizational storytelling.
