Job summary

Merck in Rahway, NJ seeks an Associate Director of Strategic Forecasting Insights to develop strategic forecasts for products/indications and deliver insights to steer marketing strategies. The role partners with DHH functions, market research, data science, and finance to develop a strong market perspective and cross-functional buy-in.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in forecasting methodologies, cross-functional leadership, and the ability to quarterback matrixed teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years delivering complex analytical projects in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.
• Experience in developing forecast models and scenario analysis.
• Experience working in highly cross-functional, matrixed teams. Demonstrated ability to collaborate and lead with empathy and compassion.
• Experience leading diverse groups of work colleagues and positively managing ambiguity.
• Self-motivated, proactive, ability to work independently and collaborate seamlessly. Lead without authority.
• Ability to understand business process and break down business questions into specific hypotheses and requirements to guide analysis.

Responsibilities

• Working closely with the Strategic Forecasting Insights Director to determine forecast modeling approaches.
• Partner with Marketing Engagement, Market Research, Data Science, Payer Analytics and other DHH functions on insights strategies.
• Develop and deliver forecasts and forecasting insights for cycles aligned with the enterprise forecasting process.
• Support understanding of actual performance against forecast and what is driving it.
• Engage with Marketing, Market Access and Finance to align on inputs, outputs, and insights.
• Drive communication around forecasting process, inputs, insights to stakeholders.
