Job summary

Cheney Brothers in Florida is seeking a procurement professional to coordinate suppliers, negotiate prices and long-term contracts, and ensure a reliable in-stock supply for Foodservice Distribution at competitive prices.

You will work as part of a team, perform duties to support customers and sales, maintain vendor relationships, resolve invoicing or delivery issues, and uphold company policies and standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience.
• Purchasing or related experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related area preferred.
• Experience in foodservice industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Select vendors based on ability to supply product, overall service level, and market conditions.
• Maintain relationships with vendors by resolving invoicing, product, or delivery issues to ensure quality service.
• Select product based on market fit, performance, and vendor reputation.
• Negotiate prices and quantities based on customer orders, EOQ, and warehouse space utilization.
• Negotiate long-term contracts to ensure continuous supply.
• Assist distribution centers for emergencies through prompt product delivery.
• Provide product and pricing information to sales and recommend pricing structures based on volume and margins.
• Perform other duties as assigned; comply with policies and standards.
