Cheney Brothers in Ocala, FL, is seeking a Purchasing professional to coordinate suppliers, negotiate terms, and establish long-term contracts to ensure a steady supply of high-quality products for foodservice distribution.

You will maintain in-stock levels, assist with special orders, and work as part of a team to deliver competitive pricing while upholding company policies and customer service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
• 0 - 6 months related purchasing experience.
• Purchasing or related experience.
• Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Select vendors based on continuous supply, service level, and marketplace understanding.
• Maintain vendor relationships and resolve invoicing or delivery issues to ensure quality service.
• Select product based on market needs, performance, alternatives, and vendor reputation.
• Negotiate prices and quantities based on orders, volume discounts, and warehouse utilization.
• Negotiate long-term contracts to ensure continuous supply and favorable terms.
• Support distribution centers for emergency situations with expeditious delivery.
• Provide product and pricing information to sales and advise on pricing structure.
