Job summary

Performance Foodservice seeks a purchasing professional to coordinate supplier sourcing, negotiate terms, and establish long-term contracts ensuring a steady supply of high-quality products for foodservice distribution at competitive prices.

You will maintain in-stock service levels, assist with special orders, and collaborate with team members to support the company’s distribution network and customer orders.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
• 1-2 years purchasing or related area.

Responsibilities

• Select vendors based on continuous supply, service level, market responsiveness, product quality and value.
• Maintain relationships with vendors by resolving invoicing, product, or delivery issues to ensure service quality.
• Select product based on market fit, performance, supply sources, and vendor reputation.
• Negotiate prices and quantities ordered based on customer orders, volume discounts and warehouse space.
• Negotiate long-term contracts considering supply continuity and market conditions.
• Support distribution centers for emergencies by securing product and expedited delivery.
• Provide product and pricing information to sales and advise on pricing structure based on volume and margins.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
