Job summary

Amtrak is seeking a seasoned accounting leader to manage fixed assets, including setup, monitoring, accounting, reporting, and staff development. You will oversee capital work in progress, asset retirements, and related reconciliations, while ensuring accuracy and compliance across multiple functional areas.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance and at least 7 years of experience, with strong Excel and knowledge of PowerPlan and SAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of relevant work experience.
• Preferred 9+ years of relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage capital accounting processes and supervise capital accounting staff.
• Coach and develop accounting staff on policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries for capital projects.
• Lead internal and external audit requests and assist with month-end close in PowerPlan and SAP.
• Provide analysis to stakeholders and updates to leadership.
