Peterson Service Company is seeking an energetic Financial Controller to lead our accounting department and financial strategy. This role drives operational improvements, oversees day-to-day financial operations, WIP accounting, weekly cash flow forecasting, job costing, ERP management, and risk mitigation.

Based in South Jersey region, the company emphasizes operational excellence, strong client relationships, and collaborative leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration.
• 5+ years progressive accounting experience; 2+ years as Controller or Accounting Manager.
• Experience in HVAC, mechanical contracting, union environments, or construction trades.
• GAAP, WIP accounting, job costing, weekly payroll management, and corporate financial administration.
• Advanced MS Excel and MS365 familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Oversee month-end and year-end close; deliver financial statements and KPIs.
• Direct job costing; monitor WIP schedules and profitability.
• Rolling weekly cash flow forecasts; manage AR/AP and banking relationships.
