CFS in Cherry Hill Township, NJ is seeking a Controller to lead corporate accounting and project finance under the CFO. This newly created role partners with operations to strengthen financial infrastructure and support strategic growth through acquisitions.

Reporting directly to the CFO, you will own month-end close, project accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting across multiple entities, with an emphasis on profitability and risk management. Hybrid work options available.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience in project-based industries.
• Strong knowledge of revenue recognition, WIP, job costing, and project profitability.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management.
• CPA or multi-entity experience is a plus.
• Excellent communication with leadership.

Responsabilidades

• Lead month-end close, financial reporting, and reconciliations.

• Partner with PMs/ops to monitor project performance and risk.
• Own budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

Salary Range: $140,000 - $155,000 + Bonus

Controller Key Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end close process, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and maintenance of strong accounting controls across multiple entities.
• Oversee project accounting functions including WIP reporting, revenue recognition, job costing, cash flow forecasting, and profitability analysis.
• Partner with project managers and operational leaders to monitor project performance, manage financial risks, and improve overall profitability.
• Own budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting to support strategic decision-making and business growth.
• Support acquisition due diligence, integration activities, and the standardization of financial processes across newly acquired entities.
• Drive process improvements, ERP optimization, and the development of scalable reporting and business intelligence capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, preferably within construction, electrical contracting, energy services, or another project-based industry.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, month-end close, revenue recognition, WIP accounting, job costing, and project profitability analysis.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with ERP systems and reporting tools.
• CPA, public accounting experience, or experience in a multi-entity environment is a plus.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to partner effectively with executive leadership and operations teams.
