Job summary

RCS Empowers, Inc. is seeking an experienced Controller to direct the organization's financial activities under the direction of the President & CEO. The role includes managing accounting functions, budgeting, and coordinating audits in a dynamic environment.

The Controller will oversee cost accounting, financial reporting, and compliance, while guiding management decisions through analyses. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate Degree in Accounting required plus at least two years of experience.
• Strong communication, organizational and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain policies, procedures and practices relating to the management of all accounting functions including cost accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit policies, billing, general ledger, payroll, cash receipts, banking activities and fixed asset accounting.
• Assist in planning establishing economic goals and objectives for the agency.
• Prepare reports, which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position for income and expenses and reports for regulatory agencies.
• Oversee journal entries, account reconciliations, fixed assets, and financial record retention.
• Prepare departmental and agency-wide budget; monitor compliance throughout the year.
• Determine depreciation rates of assets and advise management on operational adjustments due to tax revisions.
• Manage monthly and year-end closing processes and ensure transactions are recorded accurately and on time.
• Maintain inventory records.
• Coordinate the annual financial audit and serve as the primary contact for external auditors.
• Prepare any other financial information and analysis for the President and Board of Directors.
