Job summary

Advance Auto Parts seeks a Senior Financial Analyst to support decision making by collecting, analyzing and forecasting business trends aligned with strategic initiatives such as Customer Acceleration, Availability Excellence and Superior Experience.

The role requires strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel, AS/400 and PeopleSoft, with experience in a retail environment. You will guide cost, inventory and pricing analyses and deliver reports to senior management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Economics/Finance/Business required; MBA preferred.
• 3–5 years of financial and business analysis experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidelines for standard cost approaches and monitor cost-reduction programs.
• Conduct root-cause analysis to support decision-making and translate results into insights.
• Direct operating units and senior management on cost determination, inventory valuation, and pricing.
• Conduct special studies and assess in-house vs subcontract costs.
• Identify issues on projects and select methodologies or alternatives.
• Define assumptions for investments, acquisitions, or divestitures.
• Support long-range financial forecasts and budgets with scenarios.
• Provide fact-based financial analysis and models to back business cases.
• Present verbal and written reports on economic trends and industries.
• Partner with internal customers to implement performance rhythms.
• Contribute to test design to ensure reliable investment decisions.
• Provide external financial information on competitors and industry.
• Maintain knowledge of developments in finance and economics.
