TypeSafe AI in San Francisco is seeking a finance and business planning professional to own the financial model, forecasts, and cash runway. You’ll collaborate with leadership on pricing, hiring, compute spend, and investment decisions.

This broad role emphasizes rigorous analysis, clear communication, and hands-on execution of recurring reporting. Prior FP&A or investment banking experience and strong financial modeling are valued, along with curiosity about cloud costs and startup economics.

Qualifications

• A few years of experience in investment banking, strategic finance, or FP&A.
• Strong financial modeling skills and understanding of financial statements.
• Attention to detail, ability to verify work and flag unsupported assumptions.
• Able to work with minimal brief, finding information and asking questions.
• Clear communication to explain changes and recommended actions.
• Interested in recurring forecast and reporting work.

Responsibilities

• Own the financial model and forecasts for revenue, hiring, compute, and expenses.
• Track spending and explain deviations; work with accounting and budget owners.
• Forecast training and inference costs; compare vendor proposals.
• Evaluate pricing, customer economics, hiring plans, and investments; recommend actions.
• Prepare financial reporting for leadership, board meetings, and investors.
• Improve recurring reporting; automate manual tasks and take on new projects.
