Job summary

Discovery Lab is seeking a Director of Finance to serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and Board. You will oversee daily accounting, payroll, grant tracking, and contracts while shaping long-term financial strategy and ensuring compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA or CPA strongly preferred.
• At least 10 years of progressively responsible financial management experience, nonprofit preferred.
• Proven track record in budgeting, systems development, analytics and reporting.
• Strong leadership with diverse teams; integrity and attention to detail.
• Experience using Blackbaud NXT and Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Partner with CEO/Board to develop and implement financial strategies and plans.
• Lead monthly accounting, payroll, cash management, invoicing and G/L activities.
• Oversee restricted grant tracking and contract management/billing systems.
• Direct annual budgeting with leaders; report variances and cash flow.
• Coordinate with auditors for annual financial statements and 501(c)3 compliance.
