Plant Powered Metro New York seeks a Director of Administrative Operations to lead financial and administrative functions for a growing nonprofit. The role combines hands-on nonprofit finance with HR, compliance, contracts, and systems oversight.

The Director will supervise staff, coordinate with the executive leadership team, and ensure strong internal controls, grant management, and efficient back‑office operations while supporting the organization’s mission in New York City and surrounding

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in nonprofit finance, administration, operations, or a closely related area.
• Strong working knowledge of nonprofit accounting, budgeting, and reporting.
• Experience with payroll, HR processes, compliance, and vendor management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including bookkeeping, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
• Prepare reports for senior leadership and the Finance Committee, including budgeting and cash-flow analyses.
• Manage HR processes, payroll, benefits, and performance management; maintain policies and compliance.
• Lead contracts, insurance, and compliance activities and maintain secure records.
