Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking an experienced Manager – Financial Analysis and Reporting to lead FP&A for the IOS Business Unit. You will drive monthly analyses, budgets, and forecasts, partnering with Program Managers and Operations to align financials with strategic goals.

The role requires strong analytical skills, leadership, and the ability to influence stakeholders. Security clearance eligibility is required, and the position sits in Germantown, MD on site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required; 6–8 years project control experience or Master’s degree with 4 years.
• Experience managing a team of employees.
• Strong working knowledge of federal contracting concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Organized, detail-oriented, analytical with multi-tasking ability.
• Advanced Excel skills (Index/Match, Pivot, V-Lookups, Sumifs).
• Experience with Maryland Procurement Office (MPO).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Security clearance eligibility required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial analysis, budgets, and forecasts.
• Perform financial analysis, budgets, and forecasts for business planning.
• Analyze and interpret financial reports to provide observations and recommendations.
• Act as finance partner to Program Managers, Contracts, and Operations.
• Communicate variances to management and manage headcount vs. budgets.
• Provide financial data interpretations via spreadsheets and reports.
• Support month-end close and financial reporting packages for IOS divisions.
• Mentor junior analysts and lead special projects and presentations.
• Review contract terms (T&M, FFP, FFP LOE, CPFF, CPAF) for financial compliance.
• Set up and maintain billable projects in Unanet ERP.
• Prepare cost and CDRL reporting (spend plan, 75% incurred, MSRs).
• Maintain budgets/forecast models to meet project and AOP needs.
• Identify and track program risks/opportunities.
