Job summary

Via Licensing Alliance in San Francisco seeks a Senior Manager, Financial & Strategic Planning to strengthen forecasting, financial modeling, and strategic decision-support capabilities.

This role will partner closely with Finance, Licensing, Business Development, Program Management, Legal, Royalty Services, and executive leadership to translate complex market, licensing, and financial information into clear insights that support growth, resource allocation, and long-term business planning.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis, strategic finance, corporate finance, or related field.
• Strong financial modeling skills, including revenue forecasts, scenario analyses, sensitivity models, business cases, and long-range planning.
• Translate complex financial information into clear insights for senior leaders.
• Experience supporting annual planning, budgeting, forecasting, KPI reporting, or strategic planning in a complex environment.
• Analytical with ability to work with large or imperfect data sets and explain key drivers and tradeoffs.
• Excellent business judgment and strategic thinking linked to company priorities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for executive audiences.
• Cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management across multiple teams.
• Ownership mindset with initiative and accountability in a fast-paced setting.
• Advanced Excel and BI/ERP tools; familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, Salesforce, and ERP data is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA/CPA/CFA or similar certification preferred.
• Experience in IP, patent licensing, tech, media, or data-intensive industries preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance financial models for licensing programs including revenue, royalty, costs, and profitability forecasts.
• Lead annual planning, budgeting, forecasting, and long-range strategic planning processes.
• Build market-sizing and revenue models with technology adoption, pricing, and program participation assumptions.
• Conduct scenario, sensitivity, and risk analyses for new program development and negotiations.
• Evaluate royalty structures and licensing models and quantify financial impact for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Finance, Licensing, BD, Legal, and other teams to develop business cases.
• Track performance against forecasts and explain variances and drivers.
• Develop dashboards and KPIs to monitor program performance and revenue growth.
• Prepare executive-level analyses and recommendations for growth opportunities and risks.
• Improve forecasting methodologies and ensure consistent data inputs and standards.
