Job summary

Linde Inc. Burr Ridge, IL seeks a Controller to lead the finance function in the United States, reporting to the LGUS North Region Vice President. You will design and prepare financial and operational performance assessments, coordinate monthly forecasts, and assist in regional reporting.

You will drive digital improvements, provide financial consulting, and present analyses to senior management, while managing a small team and collaborating with cross-functional partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; CPA or MBA preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in an operations or manufacturing environment, ideally within the industrial gases industry.
• Strong operational accounting background with proven management capability.
• Proficiency in Excel and digital analytics tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Willingness to travel up to 15% to support business needs and leadership engagement.

Responsibilities

• Lead the finance function for Linde Services Incorporated in the United States, collaborating with the President, Business Directors, and cross-functional partners.
• Prepare and present detailed monthly reports on financial results, including P&L, headcount, capital expenditures, and working capital; prepare monthly financial reports.
• Monitor and manage key business drivers while communicating trends and integrating finance and accounting into daily operations.
• Drive digital improvements and strategic initiatives that reduce fixed costs, maximize productivity, minimize bad debt, and strengthen working capital.
• Provide financial consulting and strategic support through presentations, analysis, and capital expenditure evaluations.
• Report monthly business trends to management and coordinate with sales and Customer Financial.
• Support accounts receivable with days sales outstanding and late-paying customer reporting.
• Validate and approve capital spend and productivity projects while managing a small team of direct reports.
