Job summary

Linde plc, Burr Ridge, IL, is seeking an experienced Finance leader to manage corporate and regional financial performance. You will coordinate forecasts, drive strategic cost initiatives, and provide capital expenditure analyses to support senior management.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in operations finance within industrial gases, strong accounting skills, and proficiency with Excel, Power BI, and JDE. Travel up to 15% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
• Certified Public Accountant or MBA credentials preferred.
• Over five years of experience in an operations or manufacturing environment, ideally in the industrial gases industry.
• Strong operational accounting background with proven management capability.
• Proficiency in Excel and digital analytics tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Familiarity with enterprise systems like JDE and ability to navigate complex financial systems.
• Willingness to travel up to 15% to support business needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead the finance function for the US operations, collaborating with senior leaders.
• Prepare and present monthly financial results, including P&L, headcount, capex and working capital.
• Monitor key business drivers and translate trends into actionable insights.
• Drive digital improvements and strategic initiatives to reduce costs and improve productivity.
• Provide financial consulting and capital expenditure evaluations through reports and presentations.
• Report monthly business trends to management and coordinate with Sales and Customer Financial teams.
• Validate and approve capital spend and productivity projects with a small team.

Reporting to the LGUS North Region Vice President this position designs and prepares financial and operational performance assessments in support of senior management analysis; coordinates the preparation of monthly financial forecasts and annual operating plans; and assists in the completion of regional financial reporting requirements.

What you will enjoy doing*

• You will lead the finance function for Linde Services Incorporated in the United States, collaborating closely with the President, Business Directors, and cross functional partners leading the finance function
• In this role you will prepare and present detailed monthly reports on financial results, including profit and loss, headcount, capital expenditures, and working capital preparing monthly financial reports
• You shall monitor and manage key business drivers while communicating trends and integrating finance and accounting into daily operations managing business drivers
• Additionally drive digital improvements and strategic initiatives that reduce fixed costs, maximize productivity, minimize bad debt, and strengthen working capital driving digital and strategic improvements
• Furthermore provide financial consulting and strategic support through presentations, analysis, and capital expenditure evaluations providing financial consulting
• You are expected to report monthly business trends to management and coordinate with sales and Customer Financial
• Services on days sales outstanding and late‑paying customers reporting business trends
• Lastly validate and approve capital spend and productivity projects while managing a small team of direct reports managing capital spend and teams

What makes you great

• You have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, with Certified Public Accountant or Master of Business
• Administration credentials preferred bringing strong academic qualifications
• You shall offer over five years of experience in an operations or manufacturing environment, ideally within the industrial gases industry bringing relevant industry experience
• In addition you should demonstrate a strong operational accounting background paired with proven management capability demonstrating operational accounting strength
• Additionally show proficiency in Excel and digital business analytics tools such as Power BI or Tableau applying digital analytics skills
• Furthermore contribute familiarity with JDE and the ability to navigate complex financial systems understanding enterprise systems
• You are willing to travel up to fifteen percent to support business needs and leadership engagement supporting travel requirements
