Job summary

Deltek seeks a Summer 2027 Intern to join the Strategic Finance & Corporate Development team in Herndon, VA. You will own 3–5 projects end-to-end, including financial modeling, market analysis, and M&A support, with collaboration across FP&A, Accounting, Product Management and data teams.

The role offers hands-on experience in revenue models, profitability analysis, and strategic decision-making, with a path to a full-time Analyst offer after graduation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field; rising junior or senior for summer 2027.
• Proficient in Excel with ability to build financial models, use data tables, and lookups.
• Solid understanding of accounting basics and how financial statements connect; M&A exposure a plus.
• Familiarity with SaaS metrics (ARR, retention) and valuation methods; SQL/BI tools helpful.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain financial models in Excel covering recurring revenue, retention, customer profitability, and unit economics.
• Analyze bookings, revenue, and margins to inform long-range planning and capital allocation decisions.
• Support M&A process: target research, benchmarking, valuation analysis, financial due diligence.
• Create market-sizing and competitive intelligence analyses using external data to prioritize targets.
• Partner with FP&A on ad hoc financial and strategic analysis for leadership, including budgets and forecasts.
