Job summary

Case Western Reserve University seeks an Associate Director to provide strategic financial leadership for the Provost Office and affiliated departments. You will steer budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, partnering with department leaders and central offices to ensure compliance and efficient resource use.

You will supervise one Financial Manager (Accountant 2), drive process improvements, and support long-range planning with data-driven analyses.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of budgeting, financial planning, financial analysis and business operations experience in a complex environment.
• Excellent written and oral communication with diverse stakeholders; strong collaboration skills.
• Experience with grants, sponsored programs, and internal controls preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead annual budget development for multiple departments totaling over $144 million across about 2,900 accounts.
• Oversee grants management, grants accounting, and reporting throughout the award lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with federal regulations and institutional policies; deliver executive-level reporting and analysis.
