University of Portland seeks a Budget Director to lead budgeting, planning, and forecasting across operating and capital budgets. This role collaborates with senior leadership, colleges, and administrative units to drive strategic financial decisions and transparent reporting.

The Budget Director works with the Controller and the Vice President for Financial Affairs to prepare reports and long-term forecasts for leadership and the Board of Regents.

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Finance or related field.
• Required: 7 to 10 years of progressive professional budgeting/financial planning experience.
• Required: Experience leading staff or managing a financial function.
• Required: Experience with financial reporting software and creating financial reports.
• Preferred: Master's degree in relevant field.
• Preferred: Experience in higher education and ERP systems such as Workday, Banner, PeopleSoft or Oracle.
• Or a combination of equivalent education and/or experience.

Responsabilités

• Lead development and administration of annual operating and capital budgets.
• Formulate long-range financial planning and multi-year forecasting.
• Develop budget models aligning with goals and initiatives.
• Provide analyses and recommendations on resource allocation and priorities.
• Monitor budget performance and analyze variances.
• Prepare forecasts and dashboards; ensure documentation and consistency.
