Associated Students (AS) at CSUN seeks a Director of Accounting & Finance to lead the organization’s accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial operations, driving strategic financial planning and reporting.

Reporting to the Executive Director, this CFO-level role oversees audits, internal controls, governance, and coordination with the Board, student leaders, and university stakeholders; it offers broad impact in a student-led environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required; master's preferred.
• Minimum seven years of progressively responsible finance experience.
• Experience leading accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Experience across multiple departments, revenue streams, and stakeholder groups.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Accounting & Finance function and ensure financial integrity.
• Oversee accounting, AP/AR, purchasing, cash management, investments, financial analysis, and reporting.
• Serve as strategic financial advisor to Executive Director, Board, Finance Committee, and leadership.
• Develop financial strategies supporting organizational priorities and long-term sustainability.
• Monitor performance, risks, and implement corrective actions.
