Haddad Plumbing and Heating Inc. in Newark, NJ is seeking a Controller to oversee all accounting and financial operations, partnering with the CFO to manage general ledger, payroll, AR/AP, and financial statements.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of related experience, strong job-costing skills, and a track record of improving internal controls and financial processes. The role requires leadership within a growing construction plumbing and HVAC firm, with responsibilities spanning

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
7+ years of related experience is required.
Strong understanding of Job Costing and Project-Based Accounting.
Strong knowledge of internal controls and accounting guidelines.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Accounting Software.
Experience with Sage 100 Contractor is preferred.
Experience in Construction, Plumbing, HVAC or other skilled trades preferred.
A track record of improving financial results.

Responsibilities

Oversee all accounting functions including General Ledger, A/P, A/R, payroll, bank and credit card reconciliations.
Prepare budgets and forecasts for each project.
Prepare and assist outside accountant with monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
Manage month-end and year-end close processes for bank accounts and payables/receivables.
Ensure vendor accounts are accurately reconciled weekly and monthly.
Provide management with profitability, margins and cost-control reports.
