Haddad Plumbing and Heating Inc. is seeking a Controller to join our team at our Newark headquarters.

The Controller will oversee all accounting and financial operations, leading AP, AR, payroll, and reconciliations in partnership with the CFO to ensure accurate and timely financial management for ongoing projects. The ideal candidate has a strong background in job costing, internal controls, and project-based accounting within the construction or plumbing/HVAC sector, with experience using Sage

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
7+ years of related experience is required.
Strong understanding of job costing and project-based accounting.
Strong knowledge of internal controls and accounting guidelines.
Experience with Sage 100 Contractor preferred.

Responsibilities

Oversee all accounting functions including general ledger, AP, AR, payroll, bank and credit card reconciliations.
Prepare budgets and forecasts for each project and financial statements with the outside accountant.
Manage month-end and year-end close processes for all accounts.
Monitor job costing, WIP schedules and percentage-of-completion reporting.
Lead system improvements and SOP development for the finance department.
