Job summary

Restaura in Waltham, MA is seeking a hands-on Financial Controller to lead accounting and financial operations for a growing multi-entity hospitality business. You will oversee accounting, financial reporting, month-end close, internal controls, and financial systems while partnering with operators to drive performance.

The role emphasizes consolidations, audits, and intercompany accounting, with a team of one assistant controller and two junior accountants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a controller or assistant controller role.
• Hospitality experience across hotels, restaurants or multi-unit food and beverage.
• Strong command of GAAP.
• Track record of fast, accurate month-end close across multiple entities.
• Advanced Excel skills and hands-on experience with hospitality systems (e.g. Sage Intacct, NetSuite, R365).
• Experience managing and developing a team.
• Experience in a 200+ employee / $30m+ annual revenue organization.

Responsibilities

• Manage AP, AR, and end-to-end accounting processes.
• Own month-end close for all entities and locations.
• Deliver accurate P&L and balance sheets with timely close.
• Prepare consolidated financial statements and variance commentary.
• Coordinate audits and tax filings with external accountants.
• Maintain intercompany accounting and fixed asset registers.
• Develop process improvements across accounting functions.
• Design internal controls over cash, purchasing, inventory, payroll.
• Standardize COA and processes for new locations.
• Oversee finance tech stack: Sage Intacct, Birch Street, SAP Concur.
• Hire, coach, and grow the accounting team.
• Partner with operators as a financial business partner.
• Present results to leadership and location managers.
